The default unstaking period for SODA on SODAX Stake is 6 months. However, there are several options available to you depending on how quickly you need access to your SODA.
⏱️ The 6-month unstaking period ensures system stability. This waiting period helps maintain liquidity within the protocol and rewards those who commit to supporting the system long-term.
Your Unstaking Options
When you decide to unstake, you have flexibility in how you receive your SODA:
Wait the full 6 months: By waiting the complete unstaking period, you receive the full value of your xSODA, including all accumulated rewards. This is the option that maximizes your return.
Instantly unstake through liquidity: You can elect to instantly unstake by swapping your xSODA for SODA through the SODA/xSODA liquidity pool. This gives you SODA immediately, but the amount you receive may be lower due to fees and slippage in the liquidity pool.
Change your mind mid-wait: If you have already begun the 6-month unstaking period, you still have options. You can cancel the wait and either instantly unstake through the liquidity pool, or instantly unstake with a penalty.
⚠️ The instant unstaking penalty starts at 50% and decreases over time. If you choose to instantly unstake with a penalty during the waiting period, the penalty begins at 50% of your staked value and trends toward zero as you approach the end of the 6-month period. The longer you wait, the smaller the penalty.
Which Option is Right for You?
If you are not in a hurry, waiting the full 6 months will always give you the highest return. If you need SODA sooner, compare the instant unstaking penalty with the rate available in the SODA/xSODA liquidity pool to find the best option for your situation.
