The ICX to SODA migration has a final deadline of December 31, 2026 for self-custody migration. After this date, ICX can no longer be migrated to SODA through official channels, and the ICON Network will be permanently halted.
⌛ December 31, 2026 is the final day to migrate in self-custody. This longer timeline is exclusive to self-custody migration via "How do I migrate ICX to SODA on SODAX Migrate?". If you're expecting to migrate through a centralized exchange, you must stay up to date with that exchange's own timeline instead, and be ready to migrate in self-custody if that timeline doesn't suit you.
Key Dates
September 30, 2026: The migration becomes one-way only. From this date, only ICX to SODA conversions are supported, and SODA can no longer be converted back to ICX.
December 31, 2026: The final deadline to migrate. The ICON Network is permanently halted on this date, and ICX can no longer be migrated through official channels.
What Happens to the ICON Network
On December 31, 2026, the ICON Network is permanently halted. A read-only archive will remain available afterward so past transaction history can still be looked up, but the network will no longer produce new blocks or process transactions, including migrations.
If You Self-Custody Your ICX
If you hold ICX in your own wallet, you should migrate independently via SODAX Migrate before December 31, 2026. For a full walkthrough, see "How do I migrate ICX to SODA on SODAX Migrate?".
If You Hold ICX on a Centralized Exchange
Exchanges are rolling out support for the migration throughout 2026, each on its own timeline. Once your exchange adopts the migration, your balance is converted to SODA automatically, you do not need to use SODAX Migrate yourself. For the full process and an example timeline, see "How do I migrate ICX to SODA if I hold it on a centralized exchange?".
💡 Exchange cutoffs come earlier than December 31. Each exchange pauses ICX deposits and trading on its own schedule ahead of running its migration, so check your exchange's announcements rather than waiting for the final deadline. If their timeline or support doesn't suit you, withdraw your ICX and migrate in self-custody instead.
