A guide to funding your centralized exchange account with ICX so your balance is automatically converted to SODA when your exchange completes its migration.
⌛ Kraken paused ICX deposits and trading at 2PM UTC on August 7, 2026. With Kraken migration complete, watch this space for the next supporting exchange, however the process will remain the same.

Overview
If you hold ICX on a centralized exchange that supports the ICX to SODA Migration, the exchange handles your migration for you. Coinone completed this process for its userbase earlier in 2026, and Kraken is next to follow this standardized process.
All you need to do is make sure your ICX balance is sitting on the exchange before its cutoff date. From that point, the exchange pauses ICX deposits and trading, takes stock of every user's balance, and converts it to SODA automatically over its migration window. No further action is required, and there is no need to use SODAX Migrate yourself. If you would rather migrate ICX directly from your own wallet instead, see "How do I migrate ICX to SODA on SODAX Migrate?".
📆 Migration must be completed by the end of December 2026, At which point the ICON Network will enter maintenance mode and ICX will be unredeemable for SODA. If your exchange has yet to announce its support for migration, you should be prepared to migrate yourself, as covered in our guide "How do I migrate ICX to SODA on SODAX Migrate?".
What to Expect
Deposits and trading pause at the cutoff: Once the exchange's cutoff date passes, it pauses ICX deposits and trading so it can take an accurate snapshot of user balances.
The exchange handles the conversion: During its migration window, the exchange converts held ICX to SODA at a 1:1 ratio on your behalf.
Balances update automatically: Once the migration window closes, your account balance reflects SODA, and trading and funding for SODA reopens.
🔒 Use a fresh deposit address every time. Exchanges sometimes rotate their deposit addresses, and reusing an old address you have seen before can expose you to wallet poisoning attacks. Always copy the address shown to you in that specific deposit flow, rather than one you saved previously.
Step-by-Step Guide to Funding Your Exchange with ICX
Start a deposit on your exchange. Log in to your centralized exchange of choice and follow its process for depositing cryptoassets, selecting ICX as the asset.
Copy your deposit address. You will be shown a deposit address on the ICON Network. Copy it exactly as given, and treat it as a new address for this deposit.
Open your wallet application. Head to your wallet of choice, for example Hana Wallet.
Select ICX and start a send. In your wallet, select the ICX asset and follow its process to send funds.
Paste and verify the destination address. Paste your exchange's deposit address as the destination, and double check every character matches before continuing.
Complete the transaction. Confirm the send. Once it is confirmed on the ICON Network, your ICX balance on the exchange is ready to migrate.
That is all that is needed to have your balance ready to migrate with Kraken, or any other exchange supporting the migration.
