🧠 Are you safe on-chain? Managing your finances on-chain brings great power, but also great responsibility to manage your own security. Read on so you don’t get caught out by bad actors.
SODAX follows the industry-standard for security and auditing, alongside a dedicated support team at hand to help keep you safe. However, users must be aware of their security when engaging with decentralized applications and blockchain technology.
Step-by step guide to use SODAX securely:
Never share your secret recovery phrase or private keys! The SODAX team will never ask for these and they are never required to assist in your support issue. The phrase and/or keys are only ever used to restore your wallet in case you lose access. Exposing these to another individual will give them full control of the wallet.
Never interact with ‘support’ representatives outside of official channels, where affiliation with SODAX can be verified. Scammers often target individuals with support issues, posing as a member of the team.
Always double check addresses when sending assets. Scammers use wallet poisoning attacks (sending small amounts of assets to a users wallet to familiarise them with an incorrect address). Don’t be fooled into sending someone else your assets.
Always check the details when confirming transactions. This will detail any balance changes expected in the transaction and can be cancelled if they aren’t as you expect.
Only visit reputable Dapps and sites. New sites that may be offering unrealistic opportunities are at a high risk for phishing scams. You can also check a project's audits for further assurances around contract risk. SODAX’s audits can be found here.
We urge you not to proceed if a situation arises that concerns you on any of the above points. Please reach out via our support system (in the bottom right corner) and we can assist you.
Additional suggestions:
Use two wallets, the first for regular use and interacting with Dapps, the second to store your funds. This second wallet will only be used to fund the first wallet for transactions.
Use a hardware wallet such as a Ledger Nano. These devices provide secure storage of your private keys and can be used alongside your usual wallet app to sign your transactions.
